We work closely with our clients to provide day-to-day advice on employment law matters and a wide variety of business and contractual issues. We will review your internal employment policies and procedures including employee handbooks, as well as employment contracts and non-competition agreements. Additionally, we have the knowledge and capability to provide specialized training for employees, supervisors and human resource professionals.

With over 35 years of experience in jury and non-jury trials and arbitrations, our Labor and Employment practice has represented clients in handling employment litigation matters under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, The Americans with Disabilities Act, The Equal Pay Act, The Age Discrimination in Employment Act, The Texas Labor Code, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

COUNSELING AND TRAINING

We handle employee classification issues to ensure compliance under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), defend Department of Labor audits, and vigorously represent our clients in wage and hour lawsuits. HWA also has the capability to advise clients on various issues including Form I-9 compliance.
