Amy Tomlinson is a commercial litigator who represents businesses, insurers, and individuals in complex disputes across a broad range of industries. Her practice focuses on commercial litigation, business torts, contract disputes, professional liability matters, insurance litigation, and other high-stakes civil litigation. Amy guides clients through every stage of the litigation process, from pre-suit investigations and risk assessments to discovery, motion practice, mediation, trial, and appeal.

Known for her practical, business-minded approach, Amy partners closely with clients to develop litigation strategies that align with their legal objectives while remaining mindful of operational and financial considerations. Drawing on years of courtroom experience, she provides strategic counsel designed to efficiently resolve disputes while positioning cases for success should trial become necessary.

Before returning to private practice, Amy served as a Senior Trial Attorney, where she managed a large litigation docket and regularly handled jury trials, depositions, mediations, and contested hearings throughout Texas. She also served as an Assistant District Attorney, gaining significant courtroom and trial experience that continues to inform her advocacy on behalf of clients facing complex litigation matters.

Amy’s experience spans all aspects of litigation, including case evaluation, discovery management, witness preparation, expert coordination, dispositive motions, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. She is valued for her ability to distill complicated legal and factual issues into practical strategies that help clients navigate challenging disputes.

Amy is actively involved in the legal and business communities and has held leadership positions with numerous professional organizations. Outside of her practice, Amy brings a unique perspective shaped by her background as a first-generation American of Jamaican descent. Originally from Florida, she has proudly made Texas her home and has developed a deep appreciation for the people, culture, and communities that define the state. When not practicing law, Amy enjoys reading, cooking, baking, and spending time with family and friends. Her personal experiences and strong sense of community influence the collaborative and relationship-driven approach she brings to both her clients and colleagues.
