CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Sabrina joined Hughes Watters Askanase in February 2011 as a commercial litigation associate. Prior to joining HWA, Sabrina worked as an associate with May McCreight & Associates, PLLC, where she represented clients in civil litigation, focusing on complex commercial litigation, business transactions and business torts.
Sabrina also worked as a litigation associate with Twomey May, PLLC, where she handled appeals.
Sabrina was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2008. She is also admitted to practice law in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas and the United States Tax Court.
CLIENT EXPERIENCE
Among Sabrina's significant representations are:
- Successfully defending landlord in jury trial against tenant asserting damages for oral contract for deed and fraud.
- Representing member in suit against other members of a Texas limited liability company, resulting in settlement and division of assets favorable to client.
- Representing small business owner in jury trial against Certified Public Accountant, prevailing on breach of fiduciary duty and breach of contract claims.
- Successfully defending largest secured creditor in Chapter 11 bankruptcy in adversary regarding recharacterization of debt owed to creditor.
- Representing condominium developer in construction suit against subcontractor resulting in sizable settlement to client.
- Successfully defended foreign aircraft leasing company in pre-answer litigation brought by out-of-state aircraft repair company in Texas courts.
