CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Rachel joined Hughes Watters Askanase in November 2016 to support the firm’s award-winning Credit Union and Default Services Practice Area led by Carolyn A. Taylor and Dominique Varner. She was attracted to HWA because of the firm’s history and solid reputation in the Houston legal and business community.

Rachel says she was inspired by her late grandfather, Honorable K. Baker as well as her father to pursue a legal career. Admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2004, she is licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern, Eastern, and Northern Districts of Texas.

Before joining HWA, Rachel worked as an associate attorney with another Houston-based business law firm where she gained extensive experience representing creditors, banks, financial institutions, and mortgage servicers throughout Texas. She also developed a specialization in addressing reverse mortgage default matters. Rachel also worked for The Honorable John Donovan of the 61st Judicial District Court in Houston.

CLIENT EXPERIENCE

Rachel has more than 10 years of legal experience. She focuses her practice on representing creditors, banks, financial institutions, and mortgage servicers throughout Texas in all areas of default servicing.
