Anabel Hernández

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Anabel joined Hughes Watters Askanase as a law clerk in 2008.  Shortly after graduating from South Texas College of Law, she became a full-time associate at the firm.  Anabel was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in May 2009.  

Before joining HWA, Anabel served as a law clerk with the law firm of Nathan Sommers Jacobs, P.C., Houston, Texas and also as a judicial Intern with the Honorable Judge Jeff Bohm, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Texas, Houston Division.

CLIENT EXPERIENCE

In addition to bankruptcy law, Anabel's practice includes the following:

• State and federal consumer finance regulation;
• Reviewing and editing Spanish language legal, financial and marketing materials for accuracy and compliance; and
• Assisting both the Commercial Litigation and the Business Planning and Strategy groups.

SIGNIFICANT REPRESENTATION

• Assist counsel for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee in preparation for oral argument before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. In re Cochner.
