CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Alex joined Hughes Watters Askanase in July 2019 to support the firm’s Business Bankruptcy Practice Area. The firm’s reputation as a leader in the practice of bankruptcy and restructuring law in Texas and beyond was a key factor that led Alex to join HWA.

Before joining HWA, Alex completed a clerkship with Chief US Bankruptcy Judge Mary D. France for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Upon returning to Houston, Alex practiced with Diamond McCarthy LLP in the fields of bankruptcy law and insolvency litigation. Alex also previously practiced immigration law with Foster LLP and primarily focused on representing both high-net wealth immigrant investors and real estate project developers on the use of the EB-5 regional center program.

CLIENT EXPERIENCE

Alex focuses his practice on business bankruptcy, including all manner of debtor and creditor representations in chapter 7 and chapter 11 cases. He also focuses on representation of both chapter 7 trustees and post-confirmation liquidating trustees as well as insolvency-related litigation, including prosecution and defense of preference and fraudulent transfer actions. His experience includes the hospitality, food service, transportation, finance, and oil and gas industries.

In his free time, Alex enjoys playing golf and maintains a low single digit handicap. He attends many St. John’s School and Rice University alumni events throughout the year. He also enjoys traveling and dining out with his family and spending quality time with his chocolate Labrador retriever.
